Eilat and Timna Park

L ow weekend has finally arrived, I have been anxiously awaiting - the visit of Israel's southernmost city, Eilat. Before the trip I was in Eilat, little is known - tourist city, hot coral, some of the words with which I was described the city. It started on Thursday evening after work. By about 4:30 in the evening we were off. The Road to Eilat through the Negev desert. On the journey I was very excited, but I had never seen a desert and felt live. First, my assumption was the desert was flat, wrong. Virtually all the way we drove through mountains and valleys. A very special place in the desert is "Mitzpe Ramon. The small desert village on the edge of a huge crater. After a stop in this place, the road led us further into the Jordan Valley. This valley is characterized by numerous date plantations. These fruits thrive here very good and plentiful. After a few kilometers of driving in this valley, you could soon recognize Eilat. Eilat is located right next to Aqaba. This is already a Jordanian town. Once in Eilat we were billeted in the mother of my host Fathers. After an Israeli dinner and a visit to the family in Eilat, many we tired to bed.

The next morning a visit was at the nearby " Timna Park " on the program. The park is located in the mountains and offers breathtaking cliffs and interesting archaeological finds. To can access the sites you use your own car and therefore around the park "cruising". I refrain from describing the seen, instead, let me say at this point the images. [Images Timna Park]

After we left the park again, we drove to the sea. Here we found what was absolutely necessary - refrigeration. The car thermometer was on the way home from the park, constant 42 ° degrees Celsius (the next day it was even 45 °). However, since the humidity is very low, practically does not sweat that, despite the intense heat. Freshly bathed, we went back to our house in Eilat to us for the "Big Dinner" in the evening to freshen up. This course appeared again the whole family. The belly fully beaten, then I went along with the son and daughters of the family in the output. First we went to a cinema to show us the latest Potter to look at. Conclusion Film: Not bad. Conclusion cinema: Crazy! You feel more like home in the office than in the cinema. Between calls, gossip, Gebuhe, telephones, all this is completely normal in Israel. After the movie was over, we went downtown to Eilat's nightlife closer to take a closer look. The people here know how to celebrate! Eilat is a small Ayia Napa or Lloret de Mar. In any case, we amused us into well into the early morning hours. The next morning, after a much too short night, I was awakened by loud already back door knocking. They wanted to return to the beach. Well it has not identified a lot of me this time, I knew that we would now go to the "Coral Beach". After breakfast and a short drive, we reached the beach, which incidentally is only about 200m away from the Egyptian border. It is prohibited to climb directly on the beach into the sea because the whole shore is full of coral. We get the path led over a bridge into the sea. Equipped with swimming goggles (was no snorkeling there) we went into the water. What is there see is simply amazing. Coral, colorful fish, sea urchins, rays, etc. .. You can swim among coral round or just watch the animals. Funny, is that the animals have no fear of divers. On the contrary, they swim even approached one. After we had bathed thoroughly and snorkeling, we went back again. One last time we were invited to dinner - as usual, took the whole family participated. Unfortunately we had to go after eating it for now back to the kibbutz. Too bad, I would have liked to have stayed here for a while. It is not the last time I visited Eilat. Already in 3 weeks I am again be there, but this time with two ... [Images Eilat]

Kibbutz life

Now that I'm already a few weeks in the kibbutz, it is time to tell more about life here. In my opinion, a kibbutz to live a very comfortable and relaxed life, because everything you need to live here before hand is and you have to worry about anything. must not be cooked, for example, as it does the central kitchen. It must be washed any clothes, as this does the laundry. You do not have to worry about the kids, this is the number of kindergartens, etc. What is left to take over yet? True, the job and a Amount of free time. But the student jobs here, compared with Switzerland, "extreeeem Lescher. It is, for example, no problem to go home during the work shortly in order to get something done. If the work is done, the Arts will be addressed. But what will you do great in a kibbutz? Here again, the residents have come up with something and built numerous employment opportunities. It is, for example, one felt good after work to put in swimming pool and enjoy the evening. If you like it sporlicher may, in the coliseum (including gym) Baketball play to meet at a football game, go into the hills surrounding the kibbutz biking (including my own race track) or Jogging is also popular here. These are just some possibilities, which one are available here. Moreover, there love the people here just to sit together and talk only. As you can see, there is always something to do. To date, it is to me anyway never become boring. So you can make you a picture to my report, I am now with my company car as the paparazzi Kibbutz been away .... [Images]

Bar Mitzvah

No this word has nothing to do with a bar, but is the name for a Jewish party. The original meaning behind this festival which stands is that boys aged 13 and girl aged 12 years, begin to take on religious duties. It is similar to our confirmation. Religious parents bring their children to Jerusalem to the Wailing Wall, where they can read the first time in the scrolls. However, since the kibbutz is not religious, is here just celebrated only. This year, 20 children exceeded this limit. Instead of celebrating each child individually, you put in the kibbutz the celebration on the same date. Any family that has a bar mitzvah child gets money from the kibbutz to organize a festival. Last week it was about time again. Kibbutz rose 20 parties. I am told that on average at a party 150 people participate. That would be A 3000 partying people. By comparison, the kibbutz is home to around 950 people. Not bad right? Also, I was invited to a party such as a guest. Together with my host Father in the evening I went to the scene. As usual, Israel is first of all eat and drink properly. With a full stomach can just celebrate better. So we expected a grand buffet with many treats. A little of everything collected, I was busy eating for the next hour. The food was excellent. I found interesting was that while we were eating on the host always appeared with a bottle of Jagermeister and us, the glass refills. Well of course I had nothing against it and indulged me a couple of "hunters" as they call it here. In order not to fall from the chair I went to the dessert buffet and then fell to, really. Who can resist these delicious already J Approximately went at nine clock then the whole society into the neighborhood outside the kibbutz amphitheater. There should be a show place of the children. With half an hour late, we went actually happening. The children performed a theater. Unfortunately, I do not understand the punch lines each but it was still amusing. At the end of the piece were then ignited and fire throughout the amphitheater, the bravest of the children showed the audience a Seilakt. By going through the fire bow, then the beginning of religious obligation and therefore the adult was also carried out symbolically. After the feast was over and I went home with many happy memories for me to cut down on the ear. [Pictures Bar Mitzvah]

The wedding of my sister

Last weekend I made a trip to the good old Switzerland to attend the wedding of my sister. After landing in Zurich Kloten, I was once a weather shock. but the temperature was only about half as high as a few hours before. Even my clothes (shorts and flip flops) was far as appropriate, as I discovered shivering. After a short Aklimatisierungszeit it started on Saturday morning with the wedding. All invited guests met with us begin to get home at the start of the day with an aperitif. At 11 clock we went to the church in Niederbipp, where the wedding took place. After the church was over the couple was out of hospital colleagues Lea's and artisan's Simu colleagues received. To begin with, the two had their way, which is blocked by a tree trunk was cut free. When the tree fell and the way was thus free, the horse suddenly appeared by my sister. After a few steps with Lucky the horse, the whole party shifted to the Blüemlismatt in Egerkingen was asked to find another aperitif. With food and drink had the couple constantly deal with tasks, answer surprises. So had to remove my sister, her husband, three vials of blood. Their hospital colleagues diagnosed after the disease "heartache". Next the couple had to put together a wooden table, which was prepared by Simu's carpenter colleagues. The good old carpenter, the two traditions were also a "Söili. This however did not find it very amusing and had his squeak-free running. The highlight of the show were certainly the paratroopers from the force of the groom. They landed on a small meadow below the restaurant and offered to viewers a spectacle. After all the guests were also photographed it, the invited guests two mountains to the front of the rye. There could be increased to wish balloons. Later the guests a delicious dinner was served. In between drunken lots of games and performances on the mood. By midnight all the guests were invited outside where the couple thanked him in a heart from candles and said goodbye ... A successful wedding day, in which, fortunately, also appeared the weather was ideal, so his end. For me it was my mission in Switzerland, met and I flew back from Switzerland to the rainy midsummer Israel. [Wedding Photos]
