Once again, it turned out that I have chosen just the right time to work here. Each year, each department can organize and run a business trip and. As last weekend at the birthday party I was able to participate in this event. Last weekend I gave my job a trip to the lake Genezaret (Lake Kineret). Once a year the Kibbutz a two-day trip organized in a water park, which lies on the lake. Since the kibbutz has a lot of money, it made no half measures and rented the same throughout the water park. With twelve other "Guy's" I was responsible for catering the 400 passengers. It started on Friday morning. We loaded all the food and drinks in a small truck. After everything was neatly stowed away, we took a bus north. The lake is approximately 3 hours drive from the kibbutz. The trip was very relaxing and offered me the opportunity to land and people to see. A large part of the trip we went on Highway No. 6. This runs from north to south and has been opened only recently. Along the green line I could marvel at the wall that the Israelis have built to defend against the Palestinänsern. Shortly before the lake is passed through the Jordan Valley. In this valley, the landscape is dominated by plantations (bananas, citrus fruits, dates, etc.). Once in the water park, we had to unload the entire cargo again. After this was done, we had the whole evening free and we could relax in the pool or water slides. The (short) night we spent in the open. Hardly sleeping, we were awakened by a loud roar. One of the boys woke us up with an alarm, as in the Israeli Army is common. Even with tired faces, we had to turn to unload the morning meal and carry around. Fortunately, this was relatively quick to pay and we could lie down afterwards. After a hearty breakfast after action was announced at the lake. There were canoes and pedal boats available to paddle on the lake. For the slightly more daring banana boats were waiting on the shore. Everything of course paid by the Kibbutz. Approximately half an hour we raced with a banana on the lake. It was great fun ... About my job

Today (Sunday) is the first working day in Israel. This means for me a new work week begins. After doing a lot of trips, etc. I reported you interested sure what I been up here working moderately. I arrived not knowing exactly where I'm going to work in the kibbutz. There were three possibilities. First, the food center of the kibbutz, second in the printing or as a third option as a landscape gardener. My wish, of course, the printing job would have been. The hope was shattered but then pretty quickly. The printer prints security documents, ie bank checks clearance, credit cards, bills for phone providers and all tickets for Israel to be produced here. On a tour I had the opportunity to see the company from within. Much of the equipment used is from Müller Martini from Switzerland (for those interested). This was until now everything had something to do with the printer. Work there is, unfortunately, for security reasons. After some investigations it was clear finally that I get a job in the Food Center. The main task of the catering centers, the supply of approximately 950 residents of the kibbutz with food. Since the philosophy of the kibbutz community, is also eaten together. Previously, the houses each had no kitchens. Today, however, each house has a kitchen and people are slowly but surely to cook for themselves. For those who do not is the way the three main meals to eat at the food center. Together with the other employees (including other students) I am now responsible for ensuring that residents receive food three times a day. I work so quasi in customer service. This morning I had the opportunity to make with my host parents a bike tour. To this end, we rented bikes. The people here are totally in the bike fever and train hard on their skills. So we went to approximately half seven in the morning going to pick up the bikes. Then we headed for the Gaza Strip. On our way we crossed a memorial and the old location of the kibbutz. many things in Israel are different to the rest of the world. For example, is her first day in the week of Sunday (Yom Rishon). On this day the week begins, and thus the work. Weekend is then Fridays (yom shi shi) and Saturday (Shabbat). Since Friday is the big Base Day I decided to visit here so what is running. The first days at Kibbutz

Having spent the first week in Tel Aviv, I moved last Sunday in the Kibbutz on. Today is already the fifth day that I spend here. The people here are all very nice, helpful (like everywhere in Israel) and have always pleasure "to meet a Swiss guy." The kibbutz is located about 1.5 hours bus ride south of Tel Aviv. Is about 7 kilometers of the Gaza Strip, with the city of Gaza. There is a lookout in the Kibbutz from which one can see the city of Gaza and the entire Gaza Strip. Because of the tensions surrounding the Gaza Strip, the security arrangements in the kibbutz are very large. The kibbutz is surrounded by a double fence, which is about 1.5 meters is disassembled. No one owns their own car. If a used car, it can booked via the Ethernet of the kibbutz, and be picked up in the garage. Since the kibbutz in Israel one of the most modern, it also has very modern vehicles, which are all equipped with hybrid technology. In the kibbutz can be found further a small swimming pool, a sports complex (football field, basketball court, weight room, tennis court), a grocery shop, clothes shop and a small pub where one can enjoy the Kibbutzim after work beer. The first week in Israel

tends first week in Israel already coming to an end. It is time to make a first review. In the past week I had the opportunity to gain first impressions of this country. My station last week was the city of Tel Aviv on the Mediterranean coast of Israel. Tel Aviv is the most modern metropolis of the Middle East. The city skyline is dominated by numerous luxury hotels and banks. The front beach is one of the most beautiful, which I have seen and felt. A challenge in Tel Aviv is the bus travel whereas, since the State subvensioniert the bus companies, the tickets are very cheap. In return for the Subvensionen the companies had, however, every major road undertake to leave. The result is a very complicated bus network, which is difficult to understand for outsiders. lies in the south of Jaffa. From here, Tel Aviv has emerged. I was more the opportunity to visit the holy city of Jerusalem. By train, it went from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by many canyons. Once there, immerse yourself in a completely different world. The city just does not seem to be a world city but come together in a city of all worlds. The city is architecturally very diverse. About modern banks, stadiums and hotels to get there to see, simple houses. All buildings have in common is the covering from the local Jerusalem stone. The old town is divided between Jews, Christians, Arabs and Armenians. When visiting the different neighborhoods we can immediately see who lives where. Is in all quarters of the Aarab relatively dirty and run down, you see in the Jewish quarter of the exact opposite. The streets are clean and the houses get excavations from ancient times to the face. The visitor passes through the old streets, which were then built by the Romans. One has the feeling that soon a Roman soldier comes around the corner and feel the true atmosphere of old times. Also past is the wedding to which I was invited. The sequence of an Israeli wedding is very different to ours. Thus began the ceremony with just over an hour late (which is nothing unusual is) and only took about 15 minutes. Then it went immediately into a large ballroom where to eat and was fortified in. The Iraelis understand what it means festivals, and so resembled the wedding even more like a big Pubfest with loud music and a dancing crowd. [Wedding pictures]

My Way Internship in Israel Israel

This is first post directly from Tel Aviv, Israel. The road to Tel Aviv turned out to be a very painstaking. The story about the trip to Israel, I will tell shortly. The beginning of the trip was in the Zurich airport. After checking in we went through passport control point for hand luggage review, which all passengers of all airlines had to go through. As I flew with them and ELAL known for extremely strict controls, I was forewarned. My fears were then actually true. Arriving at the gate to send me to a private conversation with a security guard of ELAL. This asked about the reason for my trip to Israel, where I wanted to go if I have weapons in their luggage and much more. When the interrogation was over, I was met by another security guard and we walked together in a separate room full of electronic devices that looked very bizarre. The officials seemed to care much for my luggage and I had all hand luggage on a table and remove . Interpret Then they said sit down and wait. While I sat there all subjects were examined with a detector. When it was clear that I "clean" I do not entertain and terrorist intentions, I could give my bags again and leave the room. Outdoor hardly came already another security man and demanded the keys to my luggage bag. This I had protected a small palace from thieves. Reluctantly, I gave him the keys and looked after him as he disappeared with it for a few minutes later to return it. "Everything OK", announced he had and I finally got my boarding pass and was allowed to enter. The flight went smoothly and I landed safely in Tel Aviv. But before I could leave the airport, passport control was again a short survey. When these were completed successfully, I could finally move again.
